Meet WEI Alum Kara Brown
CEO & Co-Founder, LeadCoverage | Bestselling Author, The Revenue Engine
This month we are spotlighting WEI alum Kara Smith Brown, whose work is quietly reshaping how an entire industry measures marketing.
Kara is the founder and CEO of LeadCoverage, the Atlanta-headquartered go-to-market consultancy that has become the category leader for supply chain, logistics, and heavy industrial companies looking to turn marketing spend into measurable pipeline. She founded the firm in 2017 after a corporate career that included being one of the first employees at Echo Global Logistics — her name appears on Echo’s 2009 IPO press release [NYSE: ECHO] — followed by marketing leadership roles at SEKO Logistics, Geodis, and Rubicon Global.
Today, LeadCoverage is a 40-person team with offices in the Coda building in Midtown Atlanta’s “Supply Chain Square,” Panama, and the United Kingdom, and a three-time Inc. 5000 honoree. Kara is the bestselling author of The Revenue Engine, a playbook that treats B2B marketing as math, and the architect of the Share Good News, Track Interest, Follow Up framework behind it.
What she’s building right now:
In November 2025, her team launched the Supply Chain Growth Index (SCGI) — the first-ever quarterly GTM benchmark in the supply chain industry. It tracks a metric LeadCoverage developed called the Logistics Growth Efficiency Ratio (LGER) — how much pipeline every dollar of go-to-market spend actually produces. The Q4 2025 release showed a median LGER of $4.84 against a mean of $25.74 — a widening gap that freight and logistics executives across the country are now using to rethink how they deploy capital.
This April, her team also published research showing that AI referral traffic in freight grew 1,615% year-over-year — a structural shift in how B2B buyers find the companies they work with. Kara has been on stages at MODEX 2026 in Atlanta and is headed to the Gartner Supply Chain Symposium in Orlando May 4–6, translating the data for GTM leaders in real time.
Recent recognition:
- 2025 Georgia Titan 100
- PR Daily “Top Women in Marketing”
- Board member, Entrepreneur’s Organization Atlanta chapter and LaunchPad2x
- Co-founder of CloseHer, an Atlanta community for women in sales
In her own words: “Ultimately, marketing is math.”

Kara is what our cohort can look like a few chapters in: a category-defining operator still building in Atlanta, still publishing, and still making room for the women coming up behind her. WEI are proud to claim her as one of ours.
