WEI Cohort 7 Progress & Updates

Cohort 7 began 2026 with intention and momentum, transitioning into Module 4: Digital Readiness—a pivotal phase focused on building the systems that make growth sustainable. As founders returned from a period of reflection, the emphasis shifted from setting goals to executing and building a strong digital presence, core tools, and workflows designed to reduce friction for both founders and customers.

This month marked a meaningful progression from strategy to execution. Founders kicked off Module 4 with a live session that set the tone for practical, founder-friendly implementation. Inside Start Up Space, cohort members began engaging with digital audits, tech stack planning tools, workflow templates, and AI support prompts—laying the groundwork for smarter operations in the year ahead. The focus was on adding simplifying what already exists, so growth feels more manageable.

January also brought the cohort back together in community at RICE. Builder Lab 4, led by Edie Woelfle, created space for hands-on learning and peer exchange around digital systems and workflows. The WEI Ignite Co-Working Day offered a full day for founders to apply what they are learning in real time—moving deliverables forward while staying connected to one another. These moments of shared work continue to reinforce accountability and collective progress.

A key highlight this month was a practical session on intellectual property hosted by Thompson Hine, LLP. Founders engaged in a workshop focused on why intellectual property strategy matters for women-owned and women-led businesses. This month, we will dive deep into Access to Capital and developing a solid funding strategy to grow and scale.

Overall, Cohort 7 continues to demonstrate steady movement—strengthening foundations, sharpening decisions, and building the operational confidence needed for the next stage of growth. As the cohort moves deeper into Digital Readiness, the work underway now is setting the stage for more focused execution in the months ahead and preparation for accessing capital.
